Mission Accomplished
Pun intended…
I have been radio silent for a couple of months now because I have had my focus on only one thing: fill the funding gap needed to build my new studio.
I am happy to report that I have successfully filled that gap and closed on a deal for the final amount needed yesterday, 12/31/13. And no, it is absolutely NO SURPRISE that I closed on the last day of the year.
On top of that, my studio reached a pinnacle breaking the 1M+ in revenue mark ON THE LAST DAY OF THE YEAR!
Recently an investor told me that less than 4% of companies EVER break the 1M+ mark. And yet, Y2 reached this goal STILL within the confines of 2,300 square feet!
Of course all of it was spent on the construction and other costs, but that’s par for the course when you dream big.
I feel blessed for my staff, they are my gladiators; for my students, they are my purpose for getting up everyday; and for those few that took a leap of faith and believed in me when there was no certainty I could pull this off, you know who you are.
I also want to let the friends who reached out to me on my darkest days of the year know that you made a difference. I have recently told people that my magic only works if they believe, and those of you that believed in me are the only reason I got up to fight another day.
And finally, a special thanks to those that laughed at me and said that I would fail because you also gave me strength.
Don’t ever underestimate the power of telling someone that they will fail, that might be the exact thing that they need to hear in order to prove you the fuck wrong!
Back to the pun…
My favorite President (to imitate) famously gave that Mission Accomplished speech probably like a decade too early. I thought it was fitting to use that example to show that while one set of obstacles has been overcome, I am under no delusions that there will not be more and that life will fittingly throw me on my ass once again.
But I’m choosing to take one brief moment to celebrate this victory before I head back out to the battlefields to wage whatever the next war will be.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I am so excited to open the doors to the new Y2 Yoga and promise to exceed everyone’s expectations by a mile!
With Gratitude,
TB
